Fieldfisher has appointed Dermot McEvoy as a partner in its Dublin litigation and dispute resolution practice.

Mr McEvoy joins the firm from Eversheds Sutherland, bringing over 30 years of experience in construction and infrastructure disputes, commercial litigation, and alternative dispute resolution (ADR).

He will work closely with Fieldfisher’s Irish litigation and dispute resolution team, led by Killian O’Reilly, and collaborate internationally with the UK construction and projects team, headed by Dan Preston.

A CEDR-accredited and practising mediator of more than years, Mr McEvoy provides a comprehensive alternative dispute resolution service that extends beyond mediation to include adjudication, conciliation, expert determination and arbitration.

His clients have included international and domestic construction and engineering companies, major developers, insurers/brokers, med tech companies and technology businesses.

JP McDowell, managing partner of Fieldfisher Ireland, said: “Dermot is a highly respected figure in the Irish disputes market. His expertise in construction litigation and ADR significantly enhances our offering and supports our continued growth in Ireland.

“Dermot’s client-first approach and leadership in complex disputes make him a fantastic addition to our team.”

Mr McEvoy added: “Fieldfisher’s reputation for excellence and collaboration — both in Ireland and internationally — was a major draw for me.

“I’m excited to join a team that shares my values and commitment to delivering outstanding client service. I look forward to working with colleagues across Ireland and the UK to help clients navigate their most challenging disputes.”
