- Arthur Cox advises on investment in COVID-19 testing kit company
Arthur Cox has advised Illumina Ventures and HLM Venture Partners on their investment in a company aiming to produce and supply at-home COVID-19 testing kits.
The investment forms part of $71 million raised by LetsGetChecked, which operates in Dublin and New York, in its Series C funding round.
The funding will allow the company to increase manufacturing, scale-up its lab capacity, and expand its supply and business operations across the US and Europe, The Irish Times reports.
The Arthur Cox team was made up of senior associate Sophie Frederix and associates Máire Neary and Tim Gleeson, all in the firm’s corporate and M&A group.
- Philip Lee advises on €14m sale of Inbhear Fund Services
Philip Lee has advised Dublin-based Inbhear Fund Services on its reported €14 million sale to SANNE.
Jersey-based SANNE bought the company to strengthen its presence in Ireland and to gain a foothold in the Cayman Islands, where Inbhear has been operating since 2016.
Philip Lee’s corporate partner Eoghan Doyle acted for Inbhear on the deal, which the Business Post reports was completed for €14 million.
- DLA Piper advises Allianz Real Estate on financing for Bishop’s Square purchase
DLA Piper has advised Allianz Real Estate GmbH on the provision of financing to an investment vehicle for the purchase of Bishop’s Square in Dublin.
The real estate investment arm of Allianz Group provided financing to an investment vehicle managed by GLL Real Estate Partners to purchase the substantial 153,558 sq ft office building.
The international DLA Piper team was led by partners Frank Schwem and Dr Torsten Pokropp, as well as senior associate Martin Wilmsen, all in the finance and projects team in Frankfurt.
Dublin-based real estate partner Graham Quinn and finance and projects partners Kate Curneen and Conor Houlihan also formed part of the team, alongside Frankfurt colleagues Laurent Massinon and Zsuzsanna Somogyi-Csizmazia.

Eugene F Collins has advised landlord Cyril McGuire in the letting of South County Business Park in Leopardstown to Mastercard.
The letting paves the way for Mastercard’s plans to create 1,500 new jobs in Dublin over the next three to five years.
The EFC team was led by property partners Mark Walsh and Kathi Ó Riain, construction partner Margaret Austin and banking partner Libby Garvey.
The partners were assisted by construction associate Siobhan Kenny, property associate Frances Colclough and banking associate Erc Walsh.

LK Shields has advised Sure Valley Ventures in relation to an investment in Buymie Limited, a grocery delivery start-up.
Buymie connects grocery shops with personal shoppers who can pick and deliver goods directly from shops, and aims to play an important role in shaping the grocery shopping experience in Ireland after COVID-19.
The team at LK Shields was led by managing partner Emmet Scully, assisted by corporate associate Lester Sosa-Villatoro.

HOMS Solicitors has advised Danish-based Ellab on its acquisition of Irish firms QualUs and Instrument Technology Limited (ITL).
Ellab is a global provider of solutions and services for validating, measuring, recording and monitoring critical parameters of thermal applications.
QualUs is an Irish company specialising in thermal qualification and validation services and will be merged into ITL following the acquisition.
The transactions form part of Ellab’s expansion into qualification and validation services in Ireland and the UK.
