Belfast-based Cleaver Fulton Rankin has announced a new charity partnership with Marie Curie, its 2018 Charity of the Year.

The firm previously raised over £10,500 for Barnardo’s Northern Ireland, which has provided valuable support to its Young Carers service and Family Resource Centres in Northern Ireland.

Events organised by CFR staff included a cinema night, a casino night, a Valentine’s Day quiz, an Easter bake sale, participation in the Belfast Marathon Relay, and director Michael Graham’s participation in the Great North Run - which alone raised over £2,000 for the charity.

Sarah Burrows, head of charity at Cleaver Fulton Rankin, said: “We are delighted to be supporting the valuable work of Marie Curie this year and are committed to making a tangible benefit to our local community. All staff are really looking forward to raising vital funds which will support Marie Curie in the services they deliver to people living in Northern Ireland with terminal illness, and their families.”

Anne Hannan, partnerships manager at Marie Curie, added: “We are delighted to have been chosen as Cleaver Fulton Rankin’s charity partner for 2018. Our team at Marie Curie will work closely with their staff to raise awareness of the expert care, guidance and support we provide to terminal ill, and their families. We look forward to a fun year of fundraising events and volunteering.”

CFR also supports other charitable causes with which staff and client contacts have close affiliations, including Age NI, Will to Give, Rotary Club Belfast, Parenting NI and the National Autistic Society.

Many staff also sit as voluntary trustees on a number of boards.
