Caoilfhionn Gallagher KC has been honoured by the University of Galway Women in Law Society with its Gradam na mBan award.
The Gradam na mBan award recognises a woman in the legal field who is doing extraordinary work within the objectives of the society.
Ms Gallagher was presented with the award by the society’s auditor, Katie Cunningham, at a special event on Monday 9 March.
“Our society exists to empower law students who are women and gender minorities to pursue whatever career path they wish,” the society told Irish Legal News.
“We recognise that being a leader within this field as a gender minority continues to be a difficult pursuit.
“We exist to foster the aspirations of our members and encourage them to continue to break down the structures in place that inhibit gender parity at the most senior level.”
