UK and Ireland law firm Browne Jacobson hosted its first major client event in Belfast last week.

The evening, held at The Merchant Hotel in the heart of Belfast on Wednesday night, brought together nearly 300 clients and business leaders from across Northern Ireland and the wider island of Ireland.

Ross Davidson, partner at Browne Jacobson and co-founder of the former Davidson McDonnell, said: “It is an incredibly proud moment to welcome our clients and friends to our first Browne Jacobson event in Belfast.

“For our clients across Northern Ireland, this means access to a significantly broader platform: deeper sector expertise, greater geographic reach across the UK, Ireland and beyond, and the kind of investment in technology and innovation that allows us to operate at the very forefront of the profession. Tonight is the first of many such moments, and we are only getting started.”

Guests were welcomed with a fiddle performance before an a cappella set accompanied by bodhrán and four Irish dancers. The evening culminated in a rousing ensemble performance of Dreams, featuring fiddle, bodhrán, Irish dancers and four singers, a fitting tribute to the spirit of the new chapter being celebrated.

Northern Ireland has seen significant growth in cross-border transactions, foreign direct investment and major regeneration projects. Browne Jacobson’s Belfast presence strengthens its capabilities across its core sectors, including health and life sciences, financial services and insurance, real estate and construction, energy and infrastructure, government, education, and retail and supply chain, while providing direct access to Northern Ireland’s expanding corporate market.

Richard Medd, managing partner at Browne Jacobson, added: “This important event is about more than celebrating a new office. It is a demonstration of our commitment to Northern Ireland and to our island of Ireland vision. This market matters for the quality of its legal talent, the sophistication of its commercial activity and the opportunities that exist for businesses operating across the island and beyond.

“Our ambition is to be at the forefront of the issues shaping business and society; to act as a connector between markets, sectors and opportunities. Belfast, Dublin and the island of Ireland are central to that. We are following our clients, we are following talent, and we are building a platform that allows us to compete for the most significant work across the UK and Ireland. Events like tonight are where those connections deepen.”
