Multinational law firm Pinsent Masons has announced the appointment of Ann Lalor as head of its Dublin office.

Having established a broad banking practice in Dublin, Ms Lalor has a strong track record advising Irish and international banks and financial institutions, mezzanine lenders, private funders, corporate borrowers and investment vehicles in bilateral and syndicated banking transactions.

She succeeds Gayle Bowen, who steps down after three years in post to focus on her role as head of the firm’s Irish investment funds practice.

Pinsent Masons managing partner John Cleland said: “Ann is a highly respected member of the global partnership and her collaborative and innovative approach towards engaging with her clients embodies the unique approach to Irish legal services that Pinsent Masons brings to the market.”

He added: “The Dublin office has experienced consistent growth since its launch in 2017 and I’m confident it will continue to thrive under her leadership.”

Ms Lalor said: “Achieving the best results for our clients requires collaboration, diversity of thought and innovation. What makes leading the Dublin office so exciting is that it has flourished as a result of a team that approaches things differently and challenges convention in order to find the outcomes that really make a difference.

“It is an exciting time for us. We have several new hires joining our talented team, a comprehensive trainee programme in place and our focus on diversity, wellbeing and inclusion has inspired a number of our people to help drive the local and global initiatives which are felt within the culture of the office.

“We have made a great start in Ireland and I look forward to further strengthening the office in the years ahead.”

Pinsent Masons launched in Dublin in 2017 and now has 10 partners and 41 lawyers specialising in a range of sectors and practice areas, including big pharma, private equity investment, sustainable finance and investing, energy, restructuring, cyber data and tech.
