And finally… white lie

A man who sold washing powder under the pretence of dealing cocaine has been convicted of a fraud offence.

Jamie Lee Taylor, 27, pleaded guilty to offering to supply cocaine to others as well as “possession of an article for use in fraud”.

Appearing in Teesside Crown Court, his case baffled the judge, who adjourned sentencing to next week, VICE News reports.

Taylor’s lawyer, Alex Bousfield, said it was an “unusual case”.

He added: “He has not been supplying drugs to anyone. Surely the real peril in the offence of drugs is it contributes in continuing that misuse of drugs and everything else that follows from it. He knows throughout – he’s the only one who knows – these are not drugs.”
