And finally… trumped

Canada’s official immigration and citizenship website crashed last night - just as the outcome of the US presidential election became clear.

People who tried to access the website at around 11pm Eastern Time - shortly after Florida and Ohio were declared for Trump - found a message which read: “There is a problem with the resource you are looking for, and it cannot be displayed.”

The website remained down for two more hours, CTV News reports.

The timing has been interpreted widely as evidence of an American exodus following the election of Donald Trump as president.

Citizenship and Immigration Canada has not commented on the outage.
