And finally... throne room

A viral video clip has captured the moment a man joined a remote court hearing while using the toilet.

Footage of the man clearly sitting on a toilet seat and making full use of the facilities was broadcast to the public via the YouTube stream from Gujarat High Court in India.

Justice Nirzar S. Desai, presiding over the hearing, appears unaware that there is more business before his court than usual.

The man’s phone, seemingly broadcasting from the floor of a toilet cubicle while facing up at him, captures him finishing up and exiting the bathroom.

Moments later, he rejoins the hearing from a more professional setting and identifies himself as a litigant, Indian newspaper The Sunday Guardian reports.

The hearing took place on Friday 20 June but the footage has only just come to light. It is not yet clear whether the man will be punished.

Incredibly, the same court handed down punishment in March for another man who joined a court hearing from a bathroom.

In that case, the man was fined 200,000 Indian rupees (around €2,000 or £1,700) and sentenced to community service.
