And finally… soccer diplomats

Albania’s national footballers will be rewarded with diplomatic passports for beating Romania in the Euro 2016 tournament.

The passports do not carry a specific legal advantage, but will likely make international travel easier for the team’s players.

The team will also win €1 million in additional funding.

Armand Duka, the president of the Albanian Football Federation, said they were already “ambassadors without passports”.

He added: “But the premier will supply passports to them.”
