A new bride allegedly pulled a gun from under her wedding dress to threaten her new husband just hours after they were married.

Police say they arrested Kate Elizabeth Prichard, 25, after she got into a heated spat with her partner outside a hotel in Tennessee.

She brandished the handgun at him and fired into the air, witnesses say, before trying to hide the weapon when police showed up.

Police sergeant Kyle Evans said: “Responding officers let the husband know the honeymoon was over and his new wife was going to jail.”

Prichard has been charged with aggravated domestic assault and is out on a $15,000 bond, local TV station NewsChannel 5 reports.
