And finally… red faced

The electoral commissioner of Papua New Guinea has won a court order against a critical blogger who compared him to a tomato.

Patilias Gamato took Martyn Namarong to court after he called him “Patilias Tomato” and allegedly posted an image of him with a tomato for a head.

Mr Namarong denies posting the doctored image, and suggested that the court order had effectively gagged him.

An embittered Mr Gamato told Australian broadcaster ABC: “He made some defamatory statements and also called my surname ‘tomato’.

“I don’t look like a tomato, I’m a human being.”
