And finally… petty prince
A French woman is facing trial for insulting President Emmanuel Macron by calling him “filth” in a Facebook post.
She risks a €12,000 fine at the trial to be held later this year.
The complaint made against her last week revolves around a post in which she said: “This piece of filth is going to address you at 1:00 pm… it’s always on television that we see this filth.”
She is accused of “insulting the president of the republic” and will face trial on 20 June in Saint Omer, prosecutors said.
“They want to make an example of me,” the woman told La Voix du Nord regional newspaper.
