And finally… not cricket

A man who used a dead man’s highly-coveted membership card to get the best seats at Lord’s Cricket Ground has been spared jail but fined £10,000.

James Lattimer, 51, bought the card, which belonged to a member who died in 2014, from eBay and put his own photo on it.

However, he was caught by security guards last August and subsequently pleaded guilty to fraud in November, The Times reports.

Judge Michael Grieve QC, sitting in Southwark Crown Court, told Mr Lattimer that “the use of a deceased person’s identity for any purpose is despicable”.

Mr Lattimer has been ordered to pay a £10,000 fine and £425 in prosecution costs, and carry out 150 hours of unpaid work.
