Two artificial insemination tanks with a “significant value” were taken from the farm near Clogher the weekend before last.

The PSNI said it is still working “to establish the circumstances surrounding this theft”.

Inspector McNeill added: “I would encourage anyone who may have this type of equipment, or who works in this industry, to be vigilant against this type of crime, particularly over the darker winter nights.”

In a similarly bizarre agricultural crime, a Welsh apiary this year reported the theft of 14 beehives, which were later recovered.
