Beyhan Mutlu, from north-west Turkey, was reported missing by family after he wandered into a forest and lost contact with others, the Daily Sabah reports.

He later obliviously joined a small group of volunteers helping search-and-rescue professionals search the forest for him.

It was only when the group started calling his name that he realised they were looking for him and told them: “I am here.”

Mr Mutlu was driven home by authorities after giving a statement.
