And finally… letting the cat out the bag

A law professor has applied to unseal court records concerning a senior judge’s lawsuit against his neighbour’s cat.

In a bizarre series of events, Judge Michael Price sought a restraining order against his neighbour’s cat, who was regularly peeing in his back garden.

Afterwards, the Washington state judge obtained a court order sealing all the records related to the case.

The case was only revealed by Spokane County’s local newspaper, The Spokesman-Review, last week.

Eugene Volokh, a UCLA law professor and prominent blogger, has now applied to unseal the records.

He told the Los Angeles Times: “The public has the right to see what’s in this file.”
