A man charged with drug possession who had the audacity to turn up at court with cannabis in his sock was caught out after the judge smelled his stash.
Serbuhan G was charged with possession of the drug after being apprehended with 14 bags in March.
But this failed to dissuade the 22-year-old Hanover man from giving up his old ways.
Judge Koray Freudenberg asked the defendant whether he was carrying drugs after smelling something unusual in the court.
He denied having any but the judge ordered police to search him.
Officers found the weed tucked into his sock.
Judge Freudenberg fined him €1,800 for the first offence while the man can expect to be attending court again soon on the second charge.
