And finally… jailhouse rock

A lawyer has been jailed after making death threats to a fellow lawyer who moonlights as an Elvis impersonator.

The long-running case, focussed on an incident in 2014, began in 2015 and has finally been concluded.

The Malaysian court found that A. Suayri, 56, had threatened Datuk Suraj Singh during a Selangor Bar event in Subang Jaya, Selangor.

Mr Singh is a lawyer and a popular Elvis impersonator who has performed in shows for more than two decades.

Mr Suayri was given a nine-month jail sentence and fined around £1,800, but the court agreed to stay the sentence pending appeal because he has a number of clients depending on him.

He left custody after paying bail of around £900.
