And finally… heil grandpa

An Austrian court has ruled that a German tourist who complained about a “photo of a Nazi grandpa hanging in the hall” in a guesthouse had no right to air his grievance on travel websites.

The tourist posted the comments online in response to the picture of a Wehrmacht soldier in uniform.

Lawyer Stefan Kofler told AFP the posts “gave millions of people the impression that my client sympathises with National Socialism”.

The owner obtained an injunction ordering the guest to remove the comments but the tourist has vowed to fight the ruling.

In her filing, the owner said it was customary for people of the Tyrol region to hang portraits of dead family members.
