And finally… going Dutch

A wayward traveller wound up in the Dutch city of Rotterdam instead of the English town of Rotherham after a travel mix-up.

The man, from Slovakia, was on his way to meet his mother in the English town but accidentally bought the wrong ticket, NL Times reports.

He showed up at a police station in Rotterdam with no money, unable to speak either Dutch or English.

Rotterdam police blamed the mistake on the fact that “both his articulation and topographical knowledge are not very good”.

Police arranged one night’s accommodation for the man and put him in touch with a non-profit to help him reach Rotherham.
