And finally… game over

Online shoppers who shelled out hundreds of pounds for a new PlayStation 5 console have been left disappointed after instead receiving bags of grain, cat food or nothing at all.

Amazon has announced an investigation into what it said was a “small proportion” of orders which had apparently fallen victim to theft, The Guardian reports.

The PS5 console is in extremely high demand and is out of stock at every major retailer, meaning many of the short-changed customers have been unable to secure replacements.

One MTV journalist unintentionally captured her disappointment on video after recording herself opening the packaging to find an air frier instead of a PS5.
