And finally… en garde!

Arch enemies across Canada will be rejoicing at the news that a law prohibiting duels is to be repealed.

Section 71 of the country’s Criminal Code makes illegal “challenges or attempts by any means to provoke another person to fight a duel”.

However, things are set to change as Justice Minister Jody Wilson-Raybould has announced the abolition of obsolete parts of the code, including s.71.

The Ottawa Citizen reports that the last person to die duelling was Robert Lyon, who was killed by John Wilson in 1833 on the streets of Perth, Ontario.

The pair had been fighting for the love of a young school teacher.
