And finally… desk-bound

A 51-year-old lawyer has revealed how he keeps his cardiologist happy by walking two miles an hour on a treadmill under his desk.

Alexander John Wilbraham, who works in the Washington, D.C. office of Magic Circle firm Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, installed the $1,500 piece of equipment after suffering a blocked artery in 2012.

The specially-configured desk is now used as his primary workspace.

Mr Wilbraham told The National Law Journal: “It’s a little difficult to begin with. It’s a little like being at sea.

“There are slightly more inaccuracies in typing. Sometimes when I’m racking my brain over a paragraph, I will stop the machine.

“I can do most things except correct by hand, like type emails, attend conference calls.”

Most importantly, he gets “good reports” from his cardiologist and lost more than 13 kilograms in weight since the treadmill was installed.
