The driver was pulled over after police spotted him driving solo in an “HOV lane”, reserved for vehicles with at least one passenger.

Nevada Highway Patrol Trooper Travis Smaka, who pulled him over, told CNN: “The driver informed me that he had someone who was deceased in the back of the vehicle.”

The driver was let off with a warning after he asked: “So, he doesn’t count in the back?”

Mr Smaka said: “It just threw me off. That was one of the more interesting responses I’ve gotten.”
