And finally… better late than never
A German village has officially stripped Adolf Hitler of his honorary citizenship – granted 83 years ago.
Speaking to Bild, the mayor of Tegernsee in Bavaria, Johannes Hagn, said: “We wanted this over, once and for all.” He added that the 16 village councillors voted unanimously in favour of the decision.
Tegernsee has a population of 4,000 and was used as a resort by Nazi leaders.
It awarded Hitler the title of “honorary citizen” in 1933, after he was appointed chancellor by President Paul von Hindeburg.
