And finally… barred

A lawyer who drunkenly harassed diners in a Thai restaurant before launching a foul-mouthed tirade at police and patrons was eventually banned from a total of 225 bars and restaurants.

Leon Monastirski was arrested last February after police were called by bosses at a Thai restaurant where he was reportedly annoying diners.

Mr Monastirski refused to leave when the police arrived, claiming they were not “real cops”, the Daily Mail reports.

He was forcibly removed from the restaurant while shouting profanity and boasting of his legal career.

At one point, he pointed at police officers and said: “I’m going to make you all eat s***, I will make you eat my s***.”

The Syndey lawyer, who runs his own legal practice, was later convicted of two counts of assaulting a police officer and one count of resisting an officer in the execution of his or her duty.

The Independent Liquor and Gaming Authority subsequently banned him from entering venues which remain open after midnight and sell alcohol for a year, reduced to three months on appeal.

Mr Monastirski plans to appeal his conviction.
