Dementia NI is a local charity that aims to empower local people with dementia to live well and drive positive change. It is also focused on raising awareness to challenge the stigma of a dementia diagnosis whilst offering support to those affected.
Over the last year, Wilson Nesbitt’s team have organised and participated in a number of fundraising events, with three teams taking part in the Belfast City Marathon Relay as well as hosting a company bake sale, a Christmas jumper & sandwich day, and a charity quiz.
Max Nesbitt, partner and chair of Wilson Nesbitt’s Charity Committee, commented: “Dementia NI is a fantastic local charity that is making a significant impact on the lives of people living with dementia in Northern Ireland through providing vital community support, raising awareness and influencing positive change within organisations. We are delighted to make this donation to Dementia NI and hope that these funds will play some part in supporting their hugely important work in communities across the Northern Ireland.”
Karen Kerr, head of engagement at Dementia NI, said: “It’s been a pleasure to be the charity partner of Wilson Nesbitt, and we want to recognise the entire team and their wider networks for the fantastic support, encouragement, and generosity.
“From cake sales to relays in the Belfast Marathon, their dedicated staff made a real difference raising vital funds to support our life-changing work and helping to reshape the public’s understanding of dementia.
“As a local charity, every pound raised here stays here, supporting our growing network of Empowerment Groups across Northern Ireland. In this our 10th year we continue to raise awareness, challenge the stigma, and provide essential peer support for people living with dementia. From everyone at Dementia NI - thank you!”
