William Fry has launched a new initiative to explain the upcoming EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in the Irish language.

The corporate law firm is running Irish language events and initiatives to raise awareness of Seachtain na Gaelige, which runs from 1-17 March, as part of its wider commitment to diversity and inclusion.

One of these initiatives is a series of explanatory GDPR video shorts in the Irish language, created by the firm’s technology department.

Announcing the initiative, the firm said that given “the lack of Irish langauge legal resources”, it expects that the video series “will be welcomed by the Irish-speaking business community”.

The videos published on William Fry’s website cover topics such as “What is GDPR all about?”, “Enhanced Rights” and “Accountability”.
