William Fry has congratulated its senior litigation partner Michael Quinn on his appointment as a High Court judge.

Mr Quinn, who led the firm’s corporate restructuring & insolvency practice, joined William Fry as a trainee in 1982 and became partner in 1994.

He was nominated for appointment to the bench by the Government last month.

Mr Quinn is best known as an adviser to liquidators, receivers, examiners, administrators, trustees, financial institutions, investors and creditors across the spectrum of bankruptcy, restructuring, commercial litigation and dispute resolution.

In 2007, he served as president of the European Association of Insolvency Practitioners (INSOL Europe).

John Larkin, chairman of William Fry, said: “We are delighted for Michael and wish him every success in his new position.

“Michael has played an instrumental role in William Fry over the years growing the firm’s market leading insolvency practice, one of the largest in Ireland, and mentoring the team.

“This is a wonderful, well deserved, honour for Michael and a very proud event for William Fry.”
