New chair and ordinary members for FSPO council
A new chairperson and two new ordinary members have been appointed to the Financial Services and Pensions Ombudsman (FSPO) council.
Ann Duffy, who has served as an ordinary member since January 2021, has been appointed as chairperson of the council.
James Doorley and former Matheson partner Helen Kelly SC have been appointed as ordinary members of the council for five-year terms.
Finance minister Paschal Donohoe said: “I am delighted to announce the appointment of Ann Duffy as the new chairperson of the Financial Services and Pensions Ombudsman council.
“In addition, I have also appointed James Doorly and Helen Kelly to the Financial Services and Pensions Ombudsman council as two new ordinary members.
“The FSPO is a vital part of the robust consumer protection framework in place in Ireland to support consumers of financial services.
“Individually, Ann, James and Helen bring a wealth of relevant experience and expertise to their new roles on the Financial Services and Pensions Ombudsman council, whether in terms of corporate governance, consumer affairs, financial services, or legal experience.
“I want to congratulate Ann, James and Helen on their appointments and wish them all the best for their upcoming terms on the council.”
