Micheál Ó Mulláin has been named as the new managing partner of Cork-based commercial law firm O’Flynn Exhams LLP.
Mr Ó Mulláin, who will also continue to head up the firm’s real estate, banking and finance team, succeeds Shane Crossan in the top post.
The Blarney native graduated with a law degree from University College Cork in 1995, joining O’Flynn Exhams LLP in 1999.
A registered tax consultant and multilinguist, he is qualified as a lawyer in Ireland, Northern Ireland and England and Wales.
Outside of work, the family man, married to Dervla and with two children — son Micheál and Caoilfhinn — is a member of St. Finbarr’s Athletic Club and has completed numerous marathons and mountain races throughout Europe.
He is both a participant and a volunteer with the Irish Mountain Running Association (IMRA) and also coaches underage teams at Blarney GAA and Camogie Club, and Blarney United AFC.
Speaking about his appointment, Mr Ó Mulláin said: “It is both an honour and a privilege to be appointed to the position of managing partner of O’Flynn Exhams LLP.
“I would like to thank my predecessor Shane Crossan for his sterling efforts during his tenure in representing and growing the firm in a measured and professional manner.
“The firm is currently in an expansionary phase with the announcement of a number of new appointments imminent and a robust internship and traineeship programme in place.
“The firm currently has six trainees and will be increasing that number throughout 2026 with a view to developing talent that has the firm’s client-focused culture ingrained from the outset of their careers.
“I look forward, in collaboration with my fellow partners and everyone in the firm, to continuing our work in developing and growing the firm and its client base as we maintain our long tradition of providing a first-class legal service to the business community of Munster and beyond.”
Mr Crossan added: “I would like to congratulate Micheál on his appointment to the position of managing partner.
“He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the role as well as deep connections to the business community in Ireland and further afield.
“His commitment to the firm and its clients is unquestionable and I know he will lead by example as the firm continues to deliver for its clients.
“I wish Micheál all the very best in his new role.”
