McGregor knocked out in trademark court bout

Fighter Conor McGregor has been knocked out of the ring in his trademark bout against a Dutch fashion label.

Adidas and its subsidiary Reebok must remove hoodies, shorts and sweaters bearing his “McGregor” signature within seven days, the District Court of The Hague has ordered.

The sportswear companies could face fines of up to €250,000 if they do not comply with the ruling.

The action was taken by a Dutch fashion label also named McGregor.

Remco van Leeuwen, the Dutch label’s lawyer, said: “The public would be confused into believing the clothing made by Reebok for the Irish mixed martial artist and boxer comes from the McGregor fashion house.”
