McCann FitzGerald has secured three awards at the Managing IP EMEA Awards 2024 in London, including Practitioner of the Year for partner Fiona O’Beirne.

Ms O’Beirne was recognised for her continued excellent work in the field of patent litigation and other intellectual property disputes. Her practice also includes large scale commercial litigation, with a focus on complex international, regulatory and banking disputes.

The firm was also recognised with two awards in other categories: the Europe Cross-Border Patent Litigation Team of the Year for its work on Bristol-Myers Squibb (Apixaban) against generics; and the Team of the Year in the Europe Patent & Regulatory category, for its work on Biogen (Tecfidera) against generics.

Commenting on her achievement, Ms O’Beirne said: “I am honoured to receive this prestigious recognition from Managing IP Awards and sincerely thank all of my clients for their continued trust in me, and the wider team at McCann FitzGerald, who specialise in providing expert support to businesses for a diverse range of significant and challenging projects.”

Managing partner Stephen Holst said: “I am delighted our firm has received such levels of recognition at this year’s Managing IP ceremony held in London, which is a testament to the dedication and hard work of every member of our firm. It is particularly notable coming as it does soon after having been named Patent Litigation Firm of the Year in Ireland by Global IP Awards last October.”

He added: “In particular, I want to note the well-deserved recognition of Fiona O’Beirne, being named as Practitioner of the Year. Her achievement reflects her exceptional skills, professionalism, and dedication to her clients and the firm’s values.

“Our firm is built on the expertise and specialisms of our extraordinary people, and I’m delighted to see our dedicated IP practice receiving this recognition.”
