McCann FitzGerald promotes Deirdre Barnicle to consultant

McCann FitzGerald LLP has announced the promotion of Deirdre Barnicle to the position of consultant in the firm’s financial services tax practice.

Ms Barnicle advises clients on complex tax matters and the Irish tax aspects of key transactions, particularly in the debt capital markets/securitisation, investment funds and corporate banking sectors.

Graduating with a degree in Business and Law from University College Dublin (UCD) in 2001, she joined McCann FitzGerald in 2004 as a trainee solicitor, before quickly advancing her career within the firm, and becoming a Chartered Tax Adviser.

Her experience and role encompasses advising clients on all pertinent Irish tax issues in the financial services tax sphere including corporation tax, income tax, VAT, stamp duty, and withholding taxes. She also leads the provision of services by the firm to domestic and international clients in connection with Irish tax compliance obligations across all tax heads, direct and indirect.

Ms Barnicle will join the leadership team of the financial services tax practice, headed by Eleanor MacDonagh.
