McCann FitzGerald partner Catherine Derrig has taken home the Client Choice Award for Investigations in Ireland at this year’s Lexology Client Choice Awards in London.

The Lexology Client Choice Awards, established in 2005, recognise experts from law and consulting firms as well as barristers worldwide that stand apart for the excellent client care they provide and the quality of their service.

The awards are unique in being based exclusively on feedback from clients and are the result of a comprehensive research process that involves a readership survey of in-house counsel subscribers to Lexology.

Ms Derrig is an experienced litigator who advises a range of clients in contentious matters, with her practice covering a broad range of commercial and regulatory disputes and investigations in different industry sectors including financial services, healthcare, food, gambling, forestry and sea-fisheries.

She advises entities who are the subject of regulatory action and those carrying out internal investigations, ranging from in-house company investigations concerning business ethics to regulatory enforcement investigations in relation to suspected illegal activity.

Many aspects of her work have a cross-border element and she also advises on dawn raids in a variety of sectors.

She is a member and secretary to the Irish chapter of the Women’s White Collar Defence Association (WWCDA).

Ms Derrig said: “I am honoured to receive this prestigious recognition from the Lexology Client Choice Awards and sincerely thank all of my clients for their continued trust in me, and our wider investigations team at McCann FitzGerald, who specialise in expertly supporting businesses on a variety of significant and challenging mandates.

“This commitment to our clients reflects how we work as a firm at McCann FitzGerald, going above and beyond every day to deliver the best quality service for the businesses we support.”
