McCann FitzGerald has welcomed being named one of Europe’s most innovative law firms by the Financial Times.

Now in its eleventh year of publication, the Financial Times Innovative Lawyers Report is one of the top legal rankings in Europe.

FT recognised the firm’s work in two areas: its development of a comprehensive business and brand strategy (Innovation in Culture, Brand, and Strategy); and the establishment of the McCann FitzGerald Data Investigations Group (Innovation in Resourcing and Efficiency).

It described McCann Fitzgerald as “pioneers of eDiscovery in Ireland”, noting that the firm’s “comprehensive refresh of strategy focused on concrete actions rather than early press releases”.

Barry Devereux, managing partner at McCann FitzGerald, said: “The market for legal services is changing and at McCann FitzGerald, we have made a lot of progress over the last 18 months in developing a new strategy which puts innovation at its core.”

He added: “More and more, clients are looking for the delivery of increased legal services at a lower cost and we responded directly to that demand by establishing the Data Investigations Group, a pioneering model for the management of high-volume document review and reporting which will effectively save clients up to 40 per cent in cost over traditional review and research methods.

“We are delighted to have been recognised in this way by the Financial Times for these pioneering developments.”
