Maria O’Loan, head of planning & environment at Tughans, has been named Disputes Lawyer of the Year at the 2026 Women and Diversity in Law Awards in London.

The award recognises Ms O’Loan’s work as a disputes practitioner and her standing and dedication within the legal profession. She was also shortlisted for Mentor of the Year, reflecting her commitment to supporting and developing colleagues within Tughans and the wider profession.

In announcing the winners, the awards organisers identified Ms O’Loan as a standout individual winner and recognised her among influential legal leaders shaping the future of the profession.

The Women and Diversity in Law Awards, hosted by The Global Legal Post, celebrate achievement and leadership across the legal sector, with finalists and winners drawn from firms and organisations across the UK. The ceremony took place in London and brought together practitioners from across a wide range of practice areas.
