Leonie Reynolds nominated to fill High Court vacancy

Circuit Court judge Leonie Reynolds has been nominated to fill the High Court vacancy created by Mr Justice John Hedigan’s appointment to the Court of Appeal, The Irish Times reports.

Ms Reynolds, a former barrister and the daughter of former Taoiseach Albert Reynolds, was educated in UCD and the King’s Inns and called to the Bar in 1993.

She was appointed to the Circuit Court bench six years ago.

Other nominations following a series of retirements this year include Cormac Quinn to the Circuit Court, and barrister Kathryn Hutton and solicitors Fiona Lydon and David Waters to the District Court.

The appointments will be formally made by the President.
