A new legal drama is set to be broadcast on RTÉ One early next year.

Striking Out stars Amy Huberman as Tara, a Dublin-based solicitor who sets up a family and divorce law practice after splitting from fiancé and fellow solicitor Eric (Rory Keenan), who she discovers is cheating.

The four-part drama started filming in Dublin in July 2016 and is set to air on RTÉ One early in 2017.

It will be available on streaming services in the UK and the US later.

The programme is the product of a partnership between the Acorn brand of RLJ Entertainment, Blinder Films, DCD Rights, and RTÉ.

Shane Murphy, Acorn’s managing director, said Striking Out has “a charming and addictive script and a stellar ensemble cast”.

Striking Out’s producer, Katie Holly of Blinder Films, added: “We are thrilled to be partnering with Acorn, DCD and RTE on our first television drama series. The TV drama space is incredibly exciting and dynamic at the moment, and we expect that with our terrific cast, wonderful creative team and strong partners we will deliver a series that will compete well in that space and appeal to viewers world-wide.”
