Legal action brought over collapse of IPAS deal

A developer has launched legal action against the government over a collapsed deal to convert two Dublin buildings into international protection accommodation centres.
Lonadale Ltd alleges that the Department of Justice, Home Affairs and Migration reneged on agreements reached with the Department of Children, Disability and Equality prior to the transfer of responsibility for international protection.
The proceedings came before Mr Justice Mark Sanfey yesterday and were adjourned until next month.
Bernard Dunleavy SC and Daragh Breen BL are acting for Lonadale, instructed by Clark Hill partner Kamila McCarthy.
