Jenny Fisher appointed to St James’s Hospital board

Former solicitor Jenny Fisher has been appointed to the board of St James’s Hospital.
She will serve until 16 February 2023 on the board of Ireland’s largest acute academic teaching hospital, based in Dublin’s south inner city.
Ms Fisher is the chief executive officer of NBI Deployment, leading the delivery of Ireland’s largest rural infrastructure investment since rural electrification.
She joined National Broadband Ireland (NBI) in 2020, bringing over two decades of leadership and advisory experience on complex, high-profile projects within highly regulated and publicly accountable sectors.
She built her career in the infrastructure industry, with particular expertise across water, transport, education and waste sectors, as well as other regulated environments.
Before her appointment as CEO, Ms Fisher served as the chief legal and administration officer and chief security officer in NBI, responsible for overseeing all legal and regulatory affairs, with a particular focus on corporate governance and ensuring compliance with the company’s obligations to the State.
Earlier in her career, Ms Fisher was a partner for five years at Arthur Cox, where she advised on major infrastructure and commercial projects.
She subsequently played a pivotal role in the establishment of Irish Water, leading its legal function from inception.
Ms Fisher later served as head of corporate, legal and regulatory affairs at the National Lottery for four years, overseeing governance, compliance, and regulatory strategy in a highly scrutinised sector.
She previously served as a member of the audit and risk committee for the charity Self Help Africa.
