#InPictures: Calcutta Run charity partners presented with cheques

The Law Society of Ireland has presented cheques worth €215,000 in total to the Calcutta Run’s charity partners, Peter McVerry Trust and the Hope Foundation.

Michelle Ní Longáin, president of the Law Society, met with representatives of the two charities at the annual cheque handover ceremony at Blackhall Place.

The solicitors’ profession has raised €500,000 through the Calcutta Run since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic, bringing the total amount raised over 23 years to €4.8 million.

The legal fundraiser has taken place virtually for the past two years, with participants invited to collectively run, walk, hike or cycle 30,000 kilometres over 10 days.
