Hayes Solicitors LLP has announced eight promotions including the elevation of Fiona Shipsey to partner in the firm’s property team.

Of the eight lawyers, four are women, which the firm said demonstrates its commitment to increasing representation and balance across the partnership.

Ms Shipsey acts for clients in the purchase, sale, mortgaging and refinancing of both residential and commercial properties. She has particular expertise in advising receivers and banks in the sale of distressed properties. She often advises private clients on the purchase and sale of properties and also assists clients in the drafting of wills and enduring powers of attorney.

Pamela Fitzpatrick has been promoted to senior associate solicitor in the commercial and business team. She specialises in commercial litigation and dispute resolution acting for financial institutions, private equity funds, private companies and individuals in a variety of matters including enforcement and recovery actions, landlord and tenant disputes and general litigation cases.

Danny Heffernan has been promoted to associate solicitor in the banking and financial services team. He acts for a variety of domestic and international SMEs and corporates, lending institutions, state bodies and fintechs in a range of secured banking transactions including acquisition finance and has a special focus on commercial real estate finance, both investment and construction.

Denise O’Shaughnessy has been promoted to associate solicitor in the commercial and business team. She advises clients on commercial contracts and advising companies and state bodies in relation to their data protection obligations under the EU General Data Protection Regulation.

Patrick Scott has been promoted to associate solicitor in the corporate team. He advises on mergers and acquisitions, investments, corporate restructurings, shareholder agreements and other general commercial arrangements.

Jamie Doddy has been promoted to associate solicitor in the employment law team, advising both employers and employees in relation to contentious and non-contentious employment matters, including contracts of employment, workplace policies, workplace investigations, statutory compliance, redundancies and dismissals.

Kate Sherry and Deirdre O’Sullivan have both been promoted to associate solicitor in the healthcare team. Ms Sherry works in healthcare litigation, defending clinical negligence claims against public hospitals and private clinicians, while Ms O’Sullivan acts on behalf of public hospitals and private medical and dental practitioners in the defence of clinical negligence claims.

Commenting on the promotions, managing partner Joe O’Malley said: “My warmest congratulations to all those who have been very deservedly promoted and I wish them every success in the next phase of their careers with us. The diversity of talent we see in these promotions is testament to the strength of our firm’s ability and commitment to attract, retain and invest in leading individuals.”
