Galway graduates welcome President to launch of alumni association

Over 150 Galway graduates turned out to welcome President Catherine Connolly recently who paid tribute to the work of the University of Galway and highlighted the importance of the role of its alumni.
President Connolly spoke to alumni about the importance of civil legal aid in providing access to justice. Executive dean of the faculty of business and law Dr Alma McCarthy emphasised the importance of the ties between the university, business and the legal profession.
The alumni association Dublin was set up by Keith Walsh, Denise Waldron BL, Siobhan Dunne and Jim Clarken who are pictured presenting Uachtarán na hÉireann with a leather bound copy of the constitution to honour her as one of the most distinguished graduates of the University of Galway and to mark the occasion of the launch of the Law and Business Alumni Chapter, Dublin in Blackhall Place on 22 April.
