And finally… unhealthy appetite

A British man who repeatedly dined at some of Washington DC’s most expensive restaurants before walking out without paying has been arrested numerous times in the past month.

Nick Cooper, 21, ordered a $1,200 glass of 34-year-old Teeling Irish single malt whiskey, according to his police file.

On March 9 he was arrested near the White House after being found drunk and refusing to move off a street.

He was arrested again for failing to obey police after attempting to escape from them.

He allegedly spent $68.20 at a bar on March 13 under a fake name and was arrested later that week for damaging a glass door at the Embassy Row Hotel.

A few days later he was arrested for a theft and resisting arrest after dining on grilled octopus and rack of lamb with a $156 bottle of cabaret sauvignon and a $100 bottle of Moet Imperial at the Ritz-Carlton.

People who met Cooper say he claims to be from Kensington in London – though he is actually from Birkenhead, Merseyside.

He was most recently arrested for contempt of court after being suspected of ignoring a judge’s orders to stay away from the White House.
