Ennis solicitor charged with theft of €170,000 from clients

Ennis solicitor Michelle O’Keeffe has been charged with stealing over €170,000 from 11 people while acting on their behalf, The Irish Times reports.
Ms O’Keeffe, 55, appeared in Ennis District Court in relation to 19 acts of alleged theft between 24 January 2006 and 22 December 2011.
She has also been charged with failing to maintain accounting records contrary to section 86 of the Solicitors Act 1954.
Ms O’Keeffe has not entered a plea and will reappear before the court on 16 January 2019 for the production of the book of evidence.
