ELSA Ireland elects new national board for 2026/27
The 31st ELSA Ireland National Council Meeting was held at the offices of Ogier Ireland LLP and brought together students from across the country to reflect on the organisation’s achievements and set its direction for the year ahead.
The meeting featured a presentation from John Hogan, partner at Ogier Ireland, as well as the award ceremony of a generous bursary initiative by Claudio Gaspar, CEO of Favr.
Through the initiative, three Irish law students were awarded fully funded places at a Summer ELSA Law School, providing them with the opportunity to gain international legal and cultural experience.
The 2026/27 National Board is as follows:
- President: Sinead Mañalac (DCU) - re-elected for a second term.
- Secretary general: Amelia Wolk (DCU) - re-elected for a second term.
- Treasurer: Aoife Copeland (DCU)
- VP for marketing: Kelly Whelan (DCU)
- VP for seminars & conferences: Lara Terzian (UCD)
- VP for competitions: Darragh Ó Dúil (Maynooth University)
- VP for professional development: Katie Duffy (DCU)
- VP for diversity and inclusion: Bel Nabule (University of Galway)
Sinead Mañalac, president 2025/26 & 2026/27, said: “ELSA Ireland has continued to grow in reputation and strength among the international network of the European Law Student’s Association.
“Our National Council Meeting highlighted the passion and dedication of students across the country who are committed to shaping the future of the legal profession. As we look ahead, our focus remains on creating meaningful opportunities and ensuring that ELSA Ireland continues to be a platform where students can develop professionally, build lifelong connections, and contribute to a more just and inclusive society.”
Ms Mañalac will serve her second term as president during the 2026/27 academic year.
