Ms Morrissey told Irish Legal News: “I was delighted to be asked to join the board of Blackrock Credit Union.

“Credit unions have been a cornerstone of Irish communities for generations — they are not just financial institutions; they are community institutions with a commitment to the people they serve.

“I look forward to playing my part and supporting the brilliant Blackrock community. Having already had my first board meeting, I am happy to report it is off to a very positive start, and I look forward to working alongside my fellow board members as we serve the members and the community together.

“I first lived in Blackrock when I was in college in UCD, and since then I have always been drawn to the village, which I am now happy to call home.”
