DWF has announced the appointment of Dermot Casserly as an employment partner in Dublin.

Mr Casserly joins from Beauchamps, where he headed their employment practice.

He has over 20 years’ experience and will work alongside DWF’s UK and international employment teams from his base in the Dublin office.

Mr Casserly is currently appointed to the editorial board of the Irish Employment Law Journal as well as the employment committee of the Dublin Solicitors Bar Association (DSBA).

He has also published articles and delivered papers on outsourcing, redundancy law and fixed term contracts, and published a book on employment law contracts and policies in 2010.

Ross Little, executive partner of DWF’s Dublin office, said: “With an impressive track record of building up a strong employment practice and client base, Dermot’s experience will help strengthen our employment team in Dublin and internationally.

“His cross-sector way of working aligns with the business’s approach and he is an ideal candidate to help take our employment practice into its next stage of growth.”

Mr Casserly added: “DWF is praised for its innovative approach to legal services and with the capability to provide clients with all round solutions for both legal and non-legal requirements, the business is in a perfect position to grow its employment practice in Ireland.

“The opportunity to build out an employment practice in Ireland is exciting and the timing is right as clients are looking for better ways to address their employment law and related service requirements.

“I look forward to replicating my previous successes and building upon the additional client development opportunities that exist with DWF to take the Dublin based practice to the next level.”

His appointment comes just weeks after insurance partner Adrian Flynn joined DWF from DAC Beachcroft.
